Time: 10:04am
Location: The Living Room
Weight: Feeling skinny--probably around 150 (I hope I hope)

So as my devoted readers can see, I have been half sticking with the diet, and definitely not sticking with the blogging about it. Christmas was tough--I definitely put on a few pounds that one week I was home--but I think I have dropped back down again. I am about to get ready to go to the gym and work out for the first time in about 2 weeks which is just sad.

Over Christmas, when I finally had some time off from my ridiculously romper roomish job, I went to 3 spin classes. I thought "Ok I am feeling good, this is great, I am getting a good work out so I shouldn't gain anything." Low and behold I went back up to 160 on my Walmart special. It was horrible. I dont't remember being that depressed since I was 192 lbs a year ago. (Yep, thats right folks you just read 192 lbs on a 5'7" frame).

Its funny, what starts to happen as you lose the weight. The first big loss people look at you and say, "oh my god you look so great." Then as things progress co-workers start coming up with nicknames for you: "Slim" and "Skinny-minny" are frequent. The truth of it is, even though you are getting slimmer, you still feel like you are no where near being what you always thought you would be (and moving away from what you always thought you wouldn'be--if that makes any sense).

Then you get to the stage that I am at. I have about 10 more lbs to go before I get to where I "want" to be. You start to slack off, becuase "hey, everyone says I am a skinny minny." You start to go back to some of those old eating habits, "yeah I can have that one cookie that leads to two, three and five." And finally you try on the clothes that were tight on you a month ago, and they are still tight. "UGH!" So--somehow your mind psyches out your body and you get LAZY!

And getting that motivation back--is really-- the most daunting task around. Here's hoping a short 30 minute run on the treadmill will get me back on track. I will keep you posted.
